Face masks a better businessoption than UNC

THE EDITOR: If you are offered an opportunity to invest your savings in face masks, made of silk, embroidered and in various patterns and colours, being sold at 90 per cent less than its original selling price, would you consider it a viable venture?

In coming to your decision you would no doubt consider, among other things, if there is going to be a market for this product and its sales potential as we approach the end of the covid19 pandemic. Will you be willing to gamble and speculate your family's future on this deal?

Compare your dilemma with the opposition UNC that recently made the former prime minister and twice-defeated Kamla Persad-Bissessar its leader to fight the next general election due in 2025. It is argued that the PMN government is the worst and most inept we have known but besides its numerous daily missteps and blunders, it remains unchallenged and unmovable.

The chances of the tainted and rudderless UNC ever returning to government seems increasingly improbable, especially after the pitiable choice for its leader. Until the UNC can reform, restructure and transform itself as a feasible alternative government, face masks will continue to be a comparatively thriving business.
