4 charged after ganja seized in Port of Spain house

TWO men and two women were arrested after police seized 1,487.4 grams of marijuana in Port of Spain on Wednesday.

Those arrested and charged were identified in a police press release as Jaiel Choy, her common-law husband Jevon Smith, Jaiel's brother Javon Choy and his common-law wife Bianca Peters.

The press release saidt officers from the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) led by Cpl Phillip, searched for guns and ammunition at a house in Clifton Hill, East Dry River, Port of Spain.

PC Garner, the release said, found and seized 762.2 grams of marijuana from the bedroom of Jaiel Choy and Smith. He then searched another bedroom, belonging to Javon Choy and Peters, and found marijuana weighing 725.2 grams.

The four were arrested and Jevon Smith and Javon Choy were taken to the Besson Street Police Station and Jaiel Choy and Bianca Peters to the Central Police Station.

All four were later charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

PC Garner is continuing enquiries.
