Six new covid19 cases

SIX new covid19 cases were reported in TT, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 7,168. The number of cases reported reflects samples taken between December 31 and January 2.

This information was shared in the Health Ministry's 4 pm covid19 update on Sunday.

The update also showed an increase in the number of patients who recovered from 6,680 to 6,690.

The total number of active cases decreased from 355 to 351. The number of people tested for covid19 at public and private health facilities increased from 72,596 to 72,623.

The total number of patients in hospital decreased from 25 to 24. There are currently 66 patients in stepdown facilities. The number of patients in state quarantine facilities and in home self-isolation has decreased from 219 to 209 and 260 to 255, respectively

The ministry said of the 255 people in home self-isolation, 17 are in the care of the prison system.
