Tobago's Division of Health, Wellness, and Family Development recorded seven new covid19 cases on Thursday.

This brings the total number of cases on the island to 135. There have been two deaths.

In its morning update, the division said there are now 28 active cases at Tobago's covid19 facility at the old Scarborough Hospital, Fort Street in Scarborough.

Last Sunday, Tobago recorded eight new cases, which included one fire officer from the Crown Point Fire Station. The officer reported to duty days before and was sent home after he complained of feeling unwell. He was swabbed and later confirmed positive on Sunday.

They had been ordered to go into self-quarantine after they were swabbed. She said they will be monitored for a full 14 days and if they show symptoms they will be rested.

As of Thursday, Tobago had sent 2,014 samples to the Tobago Regional Health Authority, the Caribbean Public Health Agency, and other local testing sites for covid19 testing.
