'Gargamel' shot dead after shooting at police

A Maraval man is dead after he reportedly shot at police on Thursday night.
Police said they were told a murder suspect and a group of gunmen were meeting in Latin Trace, Cameron Hill, Maraval, at around 11.36 pm.
Police went there and saw a group of men gathered under a mango tree.
As they approached, a man identified as Billy Toussaint, aka “Gargamel,” shot at them. Police shot back, hitting him several times.
Policd took Toussaint to the St James Infirmary, where he was declared dead on arrival.
A 9mm pistol was seized after the gunfight. The other men ran away.
Later that night another Maraval man was arrested for the possession of a revolver and ammunition.
Police searched the area and found an AR15 assault rifle hidden in bushes.
