Three held for suspected cheque fraud

Three men were arrested in relation to alleged cheque fraud on Monday.

Police said investigators from the Fraud Squad received information about a truck carrying goods bought using fake cheques.

They intercepted the men and seized over $1 million worth of goods ranging from appliances, chairs to Christmas trees from the truck.

Newsday understands that warrants were obtained and connections were made linking the men to several outstanding investigations.

Investigators from the Fraud Squad are continuing enquiries.
