Two men shot dead in Arima

Police are investigating the deaths of two men who were shot in Arima on Saturday night.

The men have since been identified as Nicholas Edwards and Anderson Richies.

Police said members of the Northern Division Task Force went to the corner of Jean Lane and the Eastern Main Road, Arima, at around 11.10 pm after hearing reports of gunshots.

They found the body of a man with gunshot wounds in the back seat of a grey Chevrolet car.

The man's hands were tied behind his back with plastic tie straps.

The body of another man was found near the car, also with gunshot wounds.

Homicide investigators and a district medical officer were called in. The DMO declared both men dead.

The investigators are still at the scene and have found several spent ammunition shells.
