UNC Senator Gerald Ramdeen is currently at the Port of Spain General Hospital after he complained of not feeling well.

Hospital sources said Ramdeen arrived at the hospital around 1 pm with two police officers in plain clothes. Ramdeen went to the Accident and Emergency Department where he is currently being assessed.

They said he complained that he felt weak and was vomiting. He is now being given intravenous fluids and panadol.

Staff at the hospital said he is being kept apart from other patients.

Last night former attorney general Anand Ramlogan, who along with Ramdeen are in police custody on allegations of corruption, also complained of feeling unwell causing his interview with police to be cut short.

This morning, Ramdeen’s attorneys issued a pre-action protocol letter to the police questioning the senator’s detention beyond 48 hours and giving police until midday to file charges or release him.
