Good show by new artistes at Karnival Showcase
GARY CARDINEZ
KAISO Blues Cafe held its second edition of Karnival Showcase where artistes can come in and perform their 2019 selections.
Dubbed Soca and Calypso Open Mic, the showcase is opened to singers, rappers, musicians, and anyone with a talent can come to perform to an audience. With Alan D Entertainer as host, the evening was very entertaining as the MC encouraged the young artistes to come forward.
Mr Famous kicked off the show with a very high standard as he performed a song about Shadow called Last Word and another ditty called Four King.
He was followed by Minwab with their J’Ouvert Riddum, Sapphire Gold with Bumper to Bumper and Tyrel with Love your Waist.
Interestingly, most of the performers were first-timers and very young but that did not stop them from putting on a good show.
Marv, Trevor G and KRW were all very good, soliciting loud applause from the audience. Ambrose’s No feelings, Slick T The Entertainer’s Sweet TT and Kyron’s Buss a Dance also came up to scratch.
Tasha Rose and Jen’s performances of Soca Infection and Cyar Hold Back respectively were true curtain calls as they brought the showcase to an end.
The next edition of Karnival Showcase will be on February 1 from 6 pm. Artistes wishing to perform on the show can call 620-1331 to register.
