Browne finishes 13th in World Cup keirin

TEAM TTO's Kwesi Browne pedalled to a 13th place in the men’s keirin at the Tissot UCI World Cup VI in Hong Kong yesterday.

Following a fifth place finish in his heat, Browne advanced to the repechage for another shot at qualifying for the second round. He, however, placed second in the heat Yudai Nitta of Japan's Yudai Nitta, who won in 10.484 seconds. Browne was short by just 0.060 seconds.

Dutchman Theo Bos won the men's keirin final, clocking 10.535, ahead of Japan’s Tomoyuki Kawabata by 0.024 seconds. Oh of Korea Jeseok Oh placed third.

On the previous day, TT’s team sprint trio, Njisane Phillip, Nicholas Paul and Keron Bramble finished in a more-than-respectable fourth place, clocking  Today, the final day of competition will see TT take on one more event, the men’s (individual) sprint.

Phillip and Paul are TT’s representatives who will start the first round this morning. The three-day event will conclude this evening in Hong Kong.
