Should pharmacies sell cigarettes?
THE EDITOR: I know that the law permits pharmacies to sell cigarettes to customers 18 years and over, and that many pharmacies doing so ensure they are not sold from the dispensaries.
I know also that there are some pharmacies that do not sell cigarettes. Their proprietors should be commended as they are quietly making a statement supporting a tobacco-free lifestyle.
My concern is that pharmacies should be promoting a healthy lifestyle, yet some that claim to do so are selling cigarettes.
Should a pharmacy that uses the slogan “Healthy living made easy” sell cigarettes?
And should a pharmacy with the slogan “Committed to you and your family’s health” sell cigarettes?
Season’s greetings and best wishes for good health in 2019.
