Cops arrest fugitive in Beetham

A 28-year-old fugitive is in police custody after he led officers in a car chase ending in the Beetham Gardens this morning.

Police said at around 7 am, IATF officers were on patrol in Port of Spain when they saw a white BMW break a traffic light near the Port of Spain market.

Police followed the car and saw the driver break other traffic lights on Pashley Street and in Beetham before it was intercepted in Hell Yard.

The driver, who is known to have two addresses, one in Arima, and the other in Phase 5, Beetham Gardens, was arrested for driving without a driver's permit and was found to have outstanding arrest warrants for firearms possession and escaping police custody in Arima.
