Solozano, Jaipaul impress in final warm-up

JEREMY Solozano and Ricky Jaipaul were the top performers when the TT Red Force ended its final warm-up match ahead of the 2018 Regional Four-Day Tournament at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, yesterday.

The Cariah XI posted 197 for nine in the second innings after resuming the third and final day on 24 without loss. Solozano top scored again with 47, adding to his knock of 125 in the first innings. Experienced player Jason Mohammed pitched in with 32, and spinners Jaipaul (3/17) and Jon Russ Jagessar (3/44) both took three wickets. Jaipaul ended the match with six wickets after grabbing 3/94 in the first innings.

Chasing a mammoth 346 for victory, the Khan XI closed on 94/1 with Kamil Pooran scoring 41. Red Force will play Windward Islands Volcanoes from Thursday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
