PM right to refuse help

THE EDITOR: The Prime Mininster has politely declined Caricom aid in the aftermath of the horrendous floods of last weekend. Sangre Grande Regional Corporaton chairman Terry Rondon said he would be accepting assistance from Dominica.

My take is the PM would not have declined assistance without carefully assessing our situation. Our Caricom relatives are themselves experiencing troubling economic times presently. It is excellent that they offered, it shows the spirit of Caricom camaraderie. We can and will manage at this present time.

Additional funds can be attained from the Caribbean Catastrophic Risk Insurance Facility(CCRIF). We will survive. God bless our nation.
