Le Hunte: No imminent action from postal workers

PUBLIC Utilities Minister Robert Le Hunte says he was not aware of any threat of widespread industrial action by the Postal Workers Union.

Le Hunte said the management of TTPost had recognised the importance and communication and had been in consultation with the union. He added he has met with several workers’ representatives from state agencies under his purview, including the Postal Workers Union, to promote a shared vision for the management of these entities. “These discussions have been very productive and fruitful, and I have found the position of the unions to be very reasonable and responsible.” On whether there were any outstanding industrial relations matters involving management and the union which would lead to the threat of industrial action, Le Hunte said, “I am not aware of any major imminent threat. I am not aware or any outstanding or pressing industrial relations issues.”
