Belmont man shot in eye

A 28-year-old Belmont man was shot in the right eye while driving along Cascade Main Road shortly after 8.30 pm on Saturday.

The victim Jean-Paul Legere was driving his B12 car near a vegetable shed when a man standing at the side of the road fired several shots at him. Legere felt a burning sensation to his right eye and alerted a passerby who took him to the Port of Spain General Hospital. Legere was treated and warded. He is expected to undergo surgery today.
