Police investigate Belmont murder

Police are investigating the murder of a Belmont man, which took place last night.

According to police Russel Seaton 58, of St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont, was at the Sixth Avenue, Malick, Barataria home of a female friend when he was killed.

Police said around 8.45 pm, the woman heard a gunshot and later found Seaton lying at the side of her sofa with a bullet wound to the chest.

No motive has been established for his killing.
