The Red Cross recently received a US$25,000 donation from the Trinidad Cement Ltd Group of Companies (TCL Group). The money was donated as “a tremendous show of humanitarian support” for those Caribbean countries severely affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria last year.

The donation followed a call by TCL Group managing director Jose Luis Seijo to all employees to help their Caribbean neighbours with their recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Employees from across the group contributed $11,000 and the company added $14,000, thus the $25,000 donation. In addition, TCL Group has donated tons of relief items to Dominica, including canned food, water, clothing, mattresses and tarpaulins.
