Stuart: Forged documents used in Vicky’s escape

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young revealed that fake documents with a forged signature were used to effect the escape from Golden Grove Women’s Prison of fraud-accused Vicky Boodram. Young, speaking at yesterday’s post-Cabinet news briefing at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, said he was “in a complete state of shock and disbelief” at hearing of the escape, and added that someone must be held accountable.

Young said Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams had told him that the culpable would be disciplined. Young said the police would trace the chain of custody of the fake documents. “Where did that document originate from? Who is it that authorised this? We know it’s not a real document. The signature on the document is a fraudulent signature. How did someone get a stamp etcetera? So let’s wait on the outcome.
