Methodist Board, PTA want teacher removed

YVONNE WEBB

The Methodist Primary School Board along with the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the San Fernando Methodist Primary School have written individual letters to the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) to get the teacher at the centre of a discharged sexual molestation offence out of the school.

Secretary of the board Lorna Blackman, in a letter addressed to the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education and copied to the TSC among others, objected to the reinstatement of the teacher, Swain David, two weeks ago. It also cited moral and spiritual grounds as to why his reinstatement was not in the best interest of the school.

President of the PTA Darren Medford said they too await instructions from the TSC on the 16 reasons they put forward as to why Swain should be removed.

The TSC’s decision was due yesterday.
