Carissa is senior Spelling Bee champ

Carissa Mc Pherson of Black Rock Government Primary school placed first in the Seniors category of the De Don International (Donnie Stewart) first Spelling Bee competition for primary schools in Tobago. Coming first in the Juniors category was Shereefa Smith of the Des Vignes Road Government while Denelle Mc Millan of Delaford Anglican placed first in the Infant category. Students from 22 schools took place in the competition with preliminaries taking place on November 13-14 and the grand finals on Monday 20. The theme of the competition was “Enhancing and Developing Young Minds.”
