Murder In San Juan

Police are investigating another murder, this time in San Juan, where a man died while fighting off a bandit who entered his home.

The deceased has been identified as Saadiq Sam, a 30-year-old man from Petit Curucaye. Police said Sam was at his home just before 7 am, when a gunman entered his house and announced a hold-up. Sam confronted the man and was shot during a struggle. He died on the scene while the gunman escaped.

In an unrelated incident, a 27-year-old man who was shot in a bar in Curepe last Friday, died while being treated at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. Marvin Davis was among a group of men at the bar on Bushe Street, Curepe, at about 11 pm, when the group was approached by a man dressed in black. The man took out a firearm and shot Davis multiple times before escaping.
