Murdered woman’s body still in Trinidad
The body of Chriss Brewster, the 30-year-old woman who was murdered on October 30, is expected to be transported back to her Roseau, Dominica home for final rites.
Although it is not known exactly when the body is expected to be returned, Newsday was told that relatives are in this country making the necessary arrangements to have her body released and flown back home for burial. Brewster, a mother of two, lived in Trinidad for the past five years. She completed her bachelor’s degree in business management at the University of the Southern Caribbean and while looking for a job, made ends as a seamstress.
On October 30, she was killed by a 24-year-old man at her apartment on Wellington Street, St Joseph. An autopsy confirmed Brewster’s throat had been slit. The man then allegedly set fire to her apartment, which also killed 88-year-old Peter Felix, the owner of the building. A man has since been charged with her murder and is expected to return to court on November 22.
