Body found in Aripo

Police are trying to identify the body of a man found in Aripo this morning.

According to reports, at about 6 am, police were told a body had been found on Aripo Road.

They found the man’s body in bush at the side of the road. He was said to be in his 30s and five foot four inches tall. He had a short rasta hairstyle and a slim build, and wearing a black T-shirt and black three-quarter pants.

The area was cordoned off and processed and the body removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James, where an autopsy will be done once the body is identified.

Sources told Newsday gunshots were heard on Tuesday night, but no one checked to see what was going on. The body was found by passers-by who were heading to work.
