The Maritime Services Division and the Coast Guard are expected to attempt to retrieve the party boat First Lady which sank in the sea off Orange Valley in Central Trinidad on Saturday.

A bulletin was sent out to mariners warning them of the wreckage. The location of the wreckage has been marked by a dinghy which was used for the three crew members to escape.

According to reports, the boat went down at about 7.30pm after it hit an unknown object. One of the crew members called the Coast Guard. The men were rescued and taken to Staubles Bay at about 10 pm.

Newsday reached out to management of Cruise Events Limited, owners of the vessel, who declined comment.

But through thier social media platform, they advised advised the public any cruises previously booked have been cancelled and refunds will be given.

The ship was equipped with three carpeted decks, a restaurant and lounge area.
