Barrackpore man charged with murder

Raywadeo Rajeev Ranoo, 23, of Cunjal South Trace, Barrackpore has been charged with the murder of 75-year-old Hunter Samlal whose body was found bound and gagged inside his Penal apartment three months ago.

Samlal’s white Nissan panel van was missing from his premises. On Wednesday, acting on the advice of the Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions George Busby, WPC Janelle Ransome of the Homicide Investigations Bureau (Region III), laid the charge of murder against Ranoo, also known as Ronnie Ranoo. He was expected to appear before a magistrate in the San Fernando Court yesterday.
