Police destroy 1,000 marijuana trees
Marijuana trees with an estimated street value of $1 million, were destroyed by members of the Inter -Agency Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the North Eastern Division on Friday last.
In a press release, the Police Service said officers conducted the exercise between 5 am and 11 am, during which they proceeded to a bushy area at Santa Cruz Old Road, San Juan, where they discovered a marijuana field, with more than 1,000 fully grown marijuana trees and approximately 1,500 seedlings.
No arrests were made in connection with the find.
