Marlene goes home

LOW BLOOD sugar is what caused Public Administration Minister Marlene Mc Donald to be hospitalised for one night after falling ill on Thursday.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said, yesterday, that following Mc Donald’s overnight stay at the Eric Williams’ Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), she was discharged and visited her personal doctor at a private hospital. He denied reports that Mc Donald was diabetic.

Mc Donald was taken to hospital after falling ill around 1.30 pm Thursday following a Cabinet meeting at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.

After spending about four hours at the Port of Spain General Hospital, Mc Donald was transferred to the EWMSC.

On Thursday, Deyalsingh had said Mc Donald’s condition was not life threatening and, based on the tests done at that time, both a heart attack and stroke were ruled out.
