Businessman in critical condition

A Chaguanas businessman is warded in critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope after he was shot by a masked gunman at his business place yesterday morning.

Police said Brian Seurattan was shot twice to the chest. According to a police report, at 7.30 am, Seurattan was at the front of his business place Seumeds Limited in Citrus Drive, Enterprise when the incident occurred.

Reports said that while Seurattan was opening the front gate of his business place, a car pulled up in front the compound and a masked gunman exited.

The gunman then opened fire and Seurattan slumped to the ground as the gunman got back into the car which sped off.

Seurattan was taken to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

Eight spent shells were found at the crime scene.

Chaguanas police officers are investigating.
