Couva man drowns at pond

KURT Phillip, 30, of Couva, drowned at a Windsor Park pond on Monday.

Police said around 3 pm on Sunday, they were alerted to a possible drowning at the pond, which is near a sand quarry.

Phillip said he was going to take "a dip" in the pond, but began struggling soon after entering, then disappeared.

The Coast Guard found his body around 9 am on Monday.

Phillip lived at Greenidge Drive, Beaucarro.
