Two new covid19 deaths bring total to 95

Two people have died from covid19, bringing the total number of deaths to 95. The two people were an elderly male and a female, both with pre-existing medical conditions.

The Ministry of Health’s release on Friday said 47 new cases were reported within the last 24 hours, bringing the total active cases to 1,601.

It said these patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the county medical officers of health.

Seven people have been discharged from public health facilities and there are 36 recovered community cases.

The total number of cases since March is 5,241 and there are now 3,545 recovered patients.

There are 98 people in hospital, with 61 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility – five in the intensive care unit and seven in the high-dependency unit. There are 20 patients at the Caura Hospital, three at the Arima General Hospital with two in the ICU, and 14 at Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

There are 43 patients in step-down facilities, 26 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, 11 at UWI Debe and six in Tobago. There are 244 people in state quarantine facilities, and 1,460 people in home self-isolation.

A total of 31,343 people have been tested to date in the public sector.
