Sleepless in Woodbrook

THE EDITOR: New bars are cropping up all the time on Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook because it is the place to be after dark. Come Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and see for yourselves.

Empty bars make the most noise. Bars compete with each other with excessively loud music to attract patrons. Those bars with few or no patrons raise the crescendo to drown out one another.

Not the place to be if you need to sleep. You are wasting your time when you call the EMA. They will refer you to the police and vice versa.

In the past, bars were mandated to have their establishments enclosed and their speakers inside. Residents breathed a sigh of relief then.

This is Port of Spain South, a safe seat by all counts. The councillor appears to be powerless and despite the ridiculous noise, residents will still vote for their favourite party. Pity!

Oh, how I wish the Emperor Valley Zoo was located nearby so that the animals will go wild and act like they are going crazy. Wealthy people, politicians and celebrities will jump into the fray and turn down the music.
