Chaguanas man is 500th murder

A man suspected of being a habitual housebreaker became the country’s 500th murder victim for the year.

He was shot once in the face at Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas.

Police say the bullet caused a massive brain haemorrhage The unidentified man, who had a hoodie over his face and was dressed in dark clothing, had knives, a screwdriver among other items he allgedly used for house-breaking.

Police also discovered a cell phone in his pants pocket. However, the phone was locked and the Cyber Crime Unit is helping find the man's relatives or friends.

Investigators believe the man was killed after he was caught breaking into a house at 10th Street, Edinburgh 500, around 4 am today.
