THE first ever Eunicia Foundation Scholarship was awarded to a Form One student of Holy Name Convent to begin the new school year.

The scholarship was offered through the NGO FirecircleTT to End All Forms of Abuse in collaboration with the Greenidge and Byrce families, with assistance from the Holy Name Convent Alumni.

In a statement, FirecircleTT said the scholarship was a needs-based one which honoured the memory of Ernesta E Greenidge (nee Bryce). She was the former Deputy Librarian and Head of the Medical Sciences Library at UWI St Augustine.

The statement said, “Mrs Greenidge was a true believer in the power of education. She often contributed quietly to help promising children around her, so this is an effort to continue that in her absence.

“FirecircleTT believes that we all need assistance at the right time. This opportunity came at the right time for the recipient.”
