Makeda Bain claims three RBC Junior tennis titles

MAKEDA Bain and Christopher Khan both won Under-16 and Under-18 singles titles when the 2025 RBC Junior Tennis tournament concluded at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua, on December 18. Bain added a doubles crown to complete a memorable tournament.

In the boys’ Under-16 final, Khan had to dig deep against top-seeded Josiah Hills.

Khan was up against it after losing the first set 3-6. Khan showed resilience and levelled the match by winning the second set 6-4.

In the deciding third set, Khan sealed the title with an 11-9 victory.

Later on in the day, the same two players were scheduled to play in the boys’ Under-18 singles final. However, Hills could not play and Khan won by a walkover.

Bain followed Khan by winning two singles titles on the closing day.

Cyra Ramcharan proved to be a worthy opponent in the Under-16 final, but Bain prevailed 6-4, 6-4 to claim the first prize.

Facing Madison Khan in the Under-18 final, Bain was too strong and won another title with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 result.

The titles did not stop there for Bain as she teamed up with Madison to beat Cyra and Suri Ramcharan in the senior girls’ doubles final 6-0, 6-2.
