Prime Minister gives police 12 more refurbished vehicles

PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, accompanied by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, handed over 12 refurbished vehicles to the police service on December 12 at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's, Port of Spain.
A release from the Office of the Prime Minister on the same day said the handover, made to strengthen the service’s operational capacity, was part of the government's commitment to deliver a total of 50 refurbished vehicles to the police service by the end of the year, with 14 vehicles delivered last week.

“The Prime Minister stated that the additional vehicles will significantly aid the TTPS in the fight against crime by enabling officers to cover a wider area, improve mobility, and respond more quickly to emergencies.
“The PM noted that providing the police service with the necessary resources is critical to enhancing public safety and supporting frontline officers in the execution of their duties.”
The release said this initiative underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to properly resourcing and supporting the police service with practical, tangible tools that deliver lasting impact in the fight against crime.
The PM reiterated that this handover represents yet another promise made, and a promise delivered in service of the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
