The spirit of Christmas is set to come alive in San Fernando on December 5 as Naparima College hosts its highly anticipated NAPS Paradise Parang at Offside Restaurant and Bar, from 8 pm.

The event, now a staple on the school’s festive calendar, promises an energising mix of traditional and contemporary parang, led by some of the country’s most recognisable voices.

This year’s edition features performances from two major acts: Baron, Rome, and two of the nation’s popular parang ensembles, Viva Jesús and Fuego Caribeño. Each brings a unique flavour to the celebration – Rome with his modern soca-parang fusion, Baron with his timeless Christmas classics, and the bands delivering the rich cultural sound of authentic parang.

NAPS Paradise Parang has grown into one of the school’s most anticipated annual events, giving patrons an early jump on the holiday season.

This event is more than a celebration of Christmas culture – it is an opportunity to give back. With every ticket and every moment of support, patrons are directly contributing to initiatives that benefit the young men of Naparima College.

The event aligns with the school’s mission of “Putting Students First.”

The NAPS alumni aims to provide opportunities for students at the college that allow them to reach their full potential, become model citizens, and embody the true NAPS Spirit.

Vice-president and chairman of NAPS’ events committee Devin Kissoon said the event was designed to celebrate culture while supporting the school’s continued growth.

“It’s an honour to help create an event that blends entertainment with purpose. Naps Paradise Parang showcases the vibrancy of our culture while strengthening the bridge between past students, current parents, and the wider community.”

He added, “Every dollar raised goes straight back into supporting the school – whether through development programmes, student resources, or initiatives that enhance the Naparima experience. We look forward to welcoming everyone to an unforgettable night of music, camaraderie and meaningful impact.”
