This year’s edition captivated attendees with lively Latin dance performances, interactive presentations and curated embassy showcases, giving students a rare hands-on opportunity to experience the music, art and history of Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Panama. The event underscores the critical role of cultural education in shaping young leaders who are globally aware and culturally sensitive.

Diplomatic representatives included Julio Cabada, commercial counsellor and Leydis Bernal, counsellor from the Embassy of Cuba; Indra Peralta, cultural attaché and Gary Tomlinson, head of the commercial section from the Embassy of Panama; and Eduardo León, second secretary of the Dominican Republic Embassy. Representatives from Mexico and Venezuela, Pedro Ortiz and Mónica Rey, respectively, also participated, supporting the educational and cultural mission of the event. Their presence reinforced the importance of direct diplomatic engagement in cultivating understanding, dialogue and collaboration with the youth of Trinidad and Tobago, the release said.

“Trinitica Vista Latina is more than a cultural event, it is a bridge connecting students to the richness of Latin America, inspiring curiosity, empathy and a lifelong appreciation for global culture,” said Aleah Guitan, director of Trinitica International. “By immersing students in these experiences and providing access to diplomatic representatives, we empower the next generation to become active, informed global citizens.”

The event’s impact was immediately felt: students expressed enthusiasm for the performances, hands-on activities and direct interaction with diplomats, gaining perspectives that extend far beyond textbooks. Vista Latina 2025 demonstrated how cultural diplomacy can transform education, create meaningful international connections and leave lasting impressions on young minds.
