Niherst engages youth at hands-on JAVA camps

THE National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (Niherst) has launched its Ultim8 Stem! JAVA camps, designed to empower and excite young minds through hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Open to young people ages six-17, the five-day camps will be hosted across two locations during the period August 4-22 from 9.30 am-2 pm daily in Barataria and San Fernando respectively.
Weekly thematic sessions will offer well-rounded educational experiences aligned to the development of 21st-century skills such as drone technology, digital filmmaking, virtual and augmented reality, and design thinking.
Julie David, acting president of Niherst, said, “Our JAVA camps are strategically designed to offer an immersive and interactive learning experience.
By engaging with real-world technologies in a dynamic environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, students are empowered to develop the skills necessary to become the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.”
