Claxton Bay bar owner gunned down

A 37-year-old bar owner was gunned down over the weekend in front of his business place in Claxton Bay.

Kimo Narcist was declared dead at 12.03 am on July 28 at the San Fernando General Hospital.

According to police, an extended magazine with 27 rounds of 9mm ammunition was tucked on the right side of his waistband.

He owned Bar Code at West Soledad Road.

The shooting happened minutes earlier, around 11.30 pm on July 27. Narcist was in the kitchen area of a food hut at the front of his bar when a vehicle pulled up.

A man got out, walked into the kitchen, and shot him once in the head.

The shooter then got back into the car, which sped off in an unknown direction.

A relative took Narcist, of Hilltop Drive, Claxton Bay, to the hospital. The St Margaret’s Police were notified.

No other injuries were reported.

Narcist was declared dead on arrival. Among the first responders at the hospital were officers from the San Fernando CID.

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, were also notified. They responded and gathered evidence.

The body was taken to the hospital’s mortuary, pending an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

No arrests have been made.
