Couva barber robbed of close to $11,000 in items

A 31-year-old barber was the victim of a break-in and theft of nearly $11,000 worth of electrical items from his home in Couva over the weekend.
The criminals stole a 55-inch television valued $4,500, a welding plant valued $3,000, a chop saw valued $2,000 and a circular saw valued $1,200.
According to the police, the items were discovered missing around 2 pm on June 15.
The victim reported that around 8.30 pm on June 13, he secured his home at Mc Bean Village by locking all doors and windows before leaving. When he returned on June 15, he found that the front door had been pried open.
Upon checking, he discovered the items missing and alerted the Couva police. PCs Bacchus and Morrison responded and gathered evidence at the scene. No arrests have been made and PC Morrison is leading investigations.
