Williamsville home firebombed

A Williamsville man is counting his blessings after he escaped unharmed from an attack where two assailants set his house ablaze while he was sleeping on the night of June 8.
The 45-year-old fabricator told investigators he was asleep in his plywood house when he heard crackling sounds around 10.30 pm and saw his red Hyundai Elantra which was parked in front of his house on fire. He said he then saw two men wearing dark clothing and throwing objects at his house causing it to catch fire.
The victim said he managed to escape and tried to get help from neighbours when he heard several loud explosions.
Police and Mon Repos Fire Station officers responded and extinguished the fire. Both the house and car were completely destroyed. PC Narace is continuing enquiries.
