THE Miguel “Sizzla Kalonji” Collins pop-up concert, titled One Love, will take place at SoundForge, Mucurapo Road, St James on June 7, with doors opening at 8 pm.

These details were posted by the singer on Instagram on June 3, shortly after his agent teased Island Vibe Agency posted to Instagram asking, "Should we do a Sizzla and Friends Unplugged pop up on Saturday (June 7)?" The response was overwhelmingly positive.

Tickets can be bought at Island eTickets or at the SoundForge Box Office.

The concert came about after the singer did not appear at the One Caribbean Music Festival on May 31, despite being in the country, for which he cited a contractual breach by the promoter.

On June 3, Sizzla posted on Instagram a poster with the show details and the message, “Trinidad & Tobago Sizzla is here, and I'm not going anywhere until I sing for my fans. TT, you hold a special place in my heart. Our history runs deep from the genesis of my career until now. I owe this to my beautiful fans. Let's link at @sound.forge this Saturday for an unforgettable experience!”

An hour later, he posted a video promoting the show, where he spoke to Ian "Bunji Garlin" Alvarez saying he wanted to hold a show in Trinidad and asking him to line up a venue. Garlin called Fay-Ann Lyons, who called Ryan Shing Hon of SoundForge, asking if he would be willing to rent them the venue, to which he agreed.

On June 3, shortly before midnight, Garlin posted the link for the island eTicket platform. On June 4, he posted a photo of physical tickets.

A release on May 31 said the contractual breach with the promoter came after numerous back-and-forth communications.

"After... multiple attempts to resolve pending financial issues, Sizzla's management team and agent Island Vibe Agency has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the event due to the promoter's failure to meet key terms outlined in the performance agreement.

"Despite the artiste genuine desire to connect with his Trini fanbase and perform for the people of the Caribbean, this decision comes down to professionalism and principle."
