Bishop's High, Signal Hill start Tobago basketball season with a bang

Bishop's High School and Signal Hill Secondary Schools have both made strong starts to the Tobago Secondary Schools' Basketball League which started with action at the Shaw Park Complex on February 18.
Signal Hill have rattled off four wins in the boys' under-15 age group, with Bishop's racking up three wins. Bishop's have also had an impressive start in the boys' under-20 division with three wins already under their belt.
On the opening day of action, Bishop's edged Scarborough Secondary 34-32 in the under-15 division, which they then followed up with a 20-0 blowout of Mason Hall Secondary and a 26-7 win over Bishop's B team.
Meanwhile, in the under-15 category on the opening day, Signal Hill hammered Mason Hall 83-5, before getting a 35-8 win against Bishop's B on February 19. Signal Hill continued their run with a low-scoring 15-8 result over Scarborough on February 21, to go along with a 64-7 mauling of Scarborough's "B" team on February 24.
In a clash between the two giants Bishop's and Signal Hill in the boys' under-20 division on the opening day, the former school got an exciting 72-49 win, to go along with a 100-15 rout of Speyside High School on February 19 and a 61-27 triumph over Scarborough a day later.
In the girls' open division, Roxborough Secondary had mixed results on the first day of competition as they beat Mason Hall 28-11, but also went under 24-2 to Bishop's.
Bishop's girls showed their result over Roxborough was no fluke and showed their prowess with a 48-4 win against Mason Hall on February 20.
Matches in the tournament are also being played at the Patience Hill Hard Court, with the six competing schools scheduled to wrap up the season on March 14.
