OFFICERS from the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) arrested a woman who robbed a man after giving him a wine.

A police news release said on August 15, at around 2 pm, the 62-year-old victim withdrew $2,700 from a fast service at a bank on Independence Square, Port of Spain. After putting the cash in his back pocket, he walked to a nearby fast-food restaurant to visit a friend.

As he was about to leave the restaurant, the suspect approached him and began gyrating on him, rubbing her hands on his body and hugging him.

The suspect then asked the man a series of "bizzare questions," the interaction was said to have lasted for about ten minutes.

After the encounter, the man realised his money was missing from his pocket and reported the incident to a joint mobile patrol that included both police officers and the GEB team.

The officers saw a woman matching the victim’s description and detained her. The victim later identified her.

The release described the robbery as “an unconventional incident of theft.”
