[UPDATED] Cumuto schoolboy, 11, found unharmed

KERDEL Poon, who was reported missing on April 12, was found at the corner of Tedd Street, Arima Old Road at 4.25 pm.

The 11-year-old was last seen leaving school by a security guard after classes around 3pm.

His guardian, who worked at his Arima West Primary School, alerted the Arima police when she could not find him. Poon does not own a phone.

The standard-four pupil was found still wearing his school uniform and had no visible injuries.

The police took him to the Arima hospital to be examined.

Hunters Search and Rescue captain Vallence Rambharat, in a phone interview with Newsday, said they were alerted by an anonymous tip and along with police they went to the area where they found Poon sitting on the pavement.

An 11-year-old boy from Cumuto is missing after leaving his school on April 12.

Reports say Kerdel Poon, a standard four pupil at Arima West Government Primary School, was last seen leaving the school's compound around 3 pm and has not been heard from since.

He does not own a phone.

Hunters Search and Rescue captain Vallence Rambharat, in a phone interview with Newsday on April 13, said his team along with police from Arima, was out until around 12.30 am on April 12 searching for the Poon.
