Point Fortin Youth Academy registered their second straight win in the 2023/24 Next Level Consulting Ltd (NLCL) under-19 community cup as they got a 2-1 victory over Central Soccer World (CSW) at Techier recreation ground in Point Fortin on Wednesday night.

After getting a similar 2-1 result over Kamillionaire FC last Thursday, coach Kester Richards' Point Fortin team wasted little time in getting on the scoresheet in front of their home fans as Khaliq Ashton gave them the lead against CSW after only three minutes.

Point Fortin's lead did not last too long in the group B fixture, with CSW's Isaiah Phillip scoring an equaliser in the eighth minute.

Marshalled from the sidelines by St Benedict's College head coach Randolph Boyce, CSW could not keep Ashton and the hosts at bay, as the Point Fortin player notched his double on the stroke of halftime to restore his team's advantage and eventually seal all three points. On Saturday, Boyce and CSW will aim to close the year on a high when they entertain Kamillionaire at the Balmain recreation ground in Couva from 4 pm.

The fourth edition of the NLCL under-19 community cup will see the first-placed team pocketing $10,000, the second-place receiving $6,500 and the third-placed team walking away with $3,500.

The North/East (group A) and South/Central (group B) zones are currently being contested, with the Tobago zone tentatively set to kick off on January 14. Soccer Made Simple (SMS) are two-time defending champions.
