First Citizens renews partnership with TT Olympic Committee

FIRST Citizens has announced the renewal of its partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) through its contribution to the TTOC’s Gold Foundation Fund, which provides financial support to the athletes on their journey to representing TT on the world stage.

A media release by First Citizens said, "Since 2019, this collaboration has exemplified the group’s commitment to sport, which echoes the International Olympic Committee’s vision of building a better world through sport."

First Citizens group deputy CEO, operations and administration (designate) Neela Kissoon, countersigned the agreement with TTOC president Diane Henderson at the First Citizens headquarters at Queen's Park East, Port of Spain on December 15.

The ceremonial handover signalled another year of partnership ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics, scheduled to take place in Paris, France from July 26-August 11.

Kissoon said, “We are pleased to support our athletes and their personal development in pursuit of their sporting goals.”

On the partnership, Henderson said, "We're extremely grateful for the continued support from First Citizens over the past five years which has aided some of our athletes with medalling at international events.”

Looking ahead to the 2023/2024 partnership, First Citizens envisions impactful outcomes as it aims to fortify the connections with the community through sports development, empowering individuals and fostering a culture of excellence. First Citizens said it is excited for another successful partnership with the TTOC for the continued growth and success of sports in the region.
