DXL Crown Point Spartans lifted the Tobago Community Windball T10 Cricket League crown for the second year in a row on Sunday, after a 49-run victory over HACC Roxborough Gunners in the final at Parade Square in Bacolet, Tobago.

Batting first, the Spartans scored at a frenetic rate to post a healthy 122/5 in their ten overs. Antonio Providence led the charge with a brisk knock of 53 and Leroy Kerr pitched in with 19.

In the third-place match, KABS Roxborough United defeated Mason Hall Challengers by eight wickets. Challengers scored 122/4, before United raced to 127/2 in 7.4 overs. Roxborough United received $4,000 while Challengers took home $1,000.

Organiser Marcus Daniel told Newsday he was proud of the community support for this year's event. He said, "What I try to do, instead of having just a windball tournament, is get the teams straight from the community. You are allowed to pick two players from outside the community."

He said the standard of cricket was also high and appreciated by the crowd.

"I was also impressed with the uniformity of the teams. That has been a challenge previously, but it says the competition has grown from strength to strength. The tag line was bringing communities together – and I saw that in the month we were together,"

Daniel thanked Minister of Sport and Tobago West MP Shamfa Cudjoe for her support.
