Vessigny Secondary, Pt Fortin RC win Tidal Wave swim titles

VESSIGNY Secondary School and Pt Fortin RC School won the co-ed titles at the Tidal Wave Aquatics Inter-zone Schools Swim meet, at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva on Sunday.

Vessigny were dominant and comprehensively copped the co-ed Secondary schools category with 167 points. North Gate College were second with 67 points and Arima North Secondary were a close third with 64 points.

Cayann Sellier was the standout swimmer for Vessigny earning 34 points. Keimayah Rouse (26 points), Kadijah James (24 points), Anastasia Williams (18 points) and Joshua Noel (17 points) also starred for Vessigny during the meet.

Trinity College East copped the Secondary Schools boys title with 227 points, Hillview were second with 195 points and Presentation College, San Fernando rounded off the top three with 179 points.

Among the girls schools, St Joseph Convent San Fernando won the first prize with 167 points, St Augustine Girls High School earned 131.50 points and Bishop Anstey High School East came third with 115 points.

The race for the Primary School co-ed title was a closer one as Pt Fortin RC School prevailed with 161 points, St Peters Private Primary School finished second with 138 points and Holy Family Preparatory were third with 137 points.

Delivering on the day for Pt Fortin RC were Keona Thompson (36 points), Rael Morgan (36 points), Nikosi Baptiste (27 points) and Israel Sutherland (22 points).

St Joseph Boys RC (59 points) just held off the challenge of St Paul's Anglican (52 points) to win the Primary Schools boys category. San Fernando Boys Government were third with 23 points.

In the Primary School girls division, Arima Girls Government claimed the title with 45 points, ahead of San Fernando Girls Government with 25 points and St Finbar's Girls RC ended third with nine points.
